      – Using Bank of Georgia cards, Russian citizens will only be able to purchase items priced at no more than €300 (approximately 930 GEL).

      – According to Russian media, this is the first known case where the purchase of luxury goods is being restricted not by a specific store, but by the card-issuing bank itself.

      What exactly is the point?

I would have thought that the purchase of luxury goods in Georgia would only help the country. And presumably any rich Russian would have other ways to pay.

However, I can absolutely understand that you don’t want Russians pushing up the price of property, or goods that are more essential to life.
