We should seriously consider boycotting Makariou Street.
This would send a strong message to the municipality. A city should evolve based on the needs of its people, not just the interests of commercial property owners and whoever pushed for this insane decision of reopening the road to all car traffic.

Tbh, I was very against it when it happened because many times what they say and what actually happens is very different.
But I think in this case it is much better.
This is a pic from a couple days ago. There are many more trees, and it seems they have watering systems as well. Obviously they are smaller than the mature ones, but this is only a few years later. They are growing quite fast. Hopefully the forestry dept doesn’t do the usual “cut all the branches off because it’s cheaper” thing.
I think what they’ve done with makariou and stasikratous and surrounding streets with pedestrianisation, traffic management, access etc is fantastic. It’s so shit they want to shove a bunch of cars that are gonna stink up the place and basically make it worse for everyone (pedestrians, motorists, businesses).
