Trump respects strength, or at least pretends to. If you want respect, punch the orange fuck in the face. Slap so many tariffs on American, especially red state, goods that it makes those maga fucks’ heads spin

Honestly sure. Just play it like China played it in this case. We already saw he`ll fold. Not only because his position is untennable but also because he and his cronies simply lack the simple virtue of patience to actually sit out a trade war.

We should immediately issue a reciprocal 150% tariff. Maga’em’all

      Trump’s a bully.

Bully’s need to be called out not reasoned with.

      Fuck that orange dipshit.

Trump gives no respect. This will go nowhere anytime soon.

The EU should just ignore that halfwit until the tariffs he’s threatening with are in force, and only then retaliate appropriately… doing anything else is wasting time with such people.

Hit him with equally hard measures on day one. Plus, it is about time that we do something about services. Google, Microsoft, Meta, Netflix etc. need to have their access to Europe limited and pay much more taxes. They have been ripping us off and taking advantage for too long. Plus, they are severe security problem. European alternatives must be promoted.

Who the fuck cares what Trump does or thinks. Just play hard against him, he will fold eventually. He’s a fucking toddler, treat him like it

Why do these articles exclude services, when services are such a significant part of modern economies?

It is unlikely that the US has a trade deficit with EU.
Including services the deficit falls to $125 billion. But that is ignoring, that US companies set up most tech giants in Ireland, so that trade isn’t registered in the EU/US trade balance . The same is true for other services located elsewhere within the EU.

This whole article reeks of spineless representatives hoping to beg their way in the good graces of a bully who is loudly proclaiming that he is not looking for a deal.

How many times does Trump and his cabinet members, in their public rhetoric and private messages, to roast and demean EU to finally make our representatives understand that USA has decided to treat EU the same way it used to treat the global south?

This is a pathetic response to a bully looking to extort. Weaker you respond, greater is the beat down. Trump knows EU will not stand up, and he can get away with it.
