This is a video from Killa, who is now serving on a foreign team in Ukraine. Killa is Colombian and he is a career soldier. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Colombian military and he trained extensively in the United States.

Killa and his friend Kaiser have a pretty amazing story. Killa was Kaiser’s team leader in Colombia. They fought in the jungles together against terrorists and drug lords. Kaiser then went to Ukraine to help fight Russia. He has been a soldier and drone operator for more than two years in Ukraine. Kaiser reached out to PAV to say his former team leader Killa from Colombia wanted to come and join him in Ukraine but couldn’t afford the flight. We checked it out and Killa had a pretty amazing military resume and was more than willing to come and help, but he just needed help to get there. He got a free ticket thanks to donors and he is now in Ukraine serving on the same team as Kaiser. As he says they now “fight the devil” together.

There are thousands of South Americans helping Ukraine but they face unique challenges. Their flights to get to Ukraine, or to get home to see family or go home after injury are extremely expensive. They also have low wages in their home countries and their families earn low wages. They are very unlikely to be receiving help from friends and family the way volunteers from wealthier countries are. You can help them get flights:

      1. You can donate any amount at [protectavolunteer.com](http://protectavolunteer.com) and choose Flight Fund. We use these funds to pay for tickets.

      2. If you have airline miles, sign up as flight donor at the same link. We will pair you up with someone who eithern needs a flight to Ukraine or who is going home after 6+ months of service or injury. Everyone getting a flight has either served in Ukraine previously or has extensive experience in their home countries and a strong reference from a team in Ukraine that is 100% sure they will accept the soldier upon arrival.

As we are in year 4 of the full scale invasion, many soldiers haven’t been able to see family in a very long time and others are in need of a break. Getting them a flight is a huge help for them and they are very grateful when they receive one.
