Brutal indictment of the quality of our roads. I’ve had some dicey moments with surprise potholes too and I know fellow cyclists who have broken collar bones.

The countries roads are a death trap.

well…. if he’s politician, city will immediately patch up the pothole.

Thats what happened in my country when politician went for cycling and hit a pothole.

I mean could have steered around it ?

Or slowed down given you don’t know what’s below the puddle you’re riding through ?

Pot holes are usually where water lies due to freeze/thaw.

Lack of common sense I’d say. Although common sense is rare today, almost makes you a genius.

Ooh, welp if you don’t pay road tax, can’t really complain i guess

Headline makes it sound like he found a pothole and took revenge by hunting down council workers who should have filled it and breaking their bones.

    6. My grandma tripped over a pothole crossing the road and broke both her wrists and her nose, spent 6 weeks in a care facility while she was recovering and still uses wrist braces now.

They fixed the pothole the next day 😂

    7. I used to work for some councillors (South Coast). Our town (like many others) had some nasty potholes. Instead of doing anything, we would take trips to various holes and I would take pictures of them angrily pointing at the holes 🥴 that was almost 10 years ago.

Yeah but seriously how do we pay for Child and Adult social care costs as that’s the honest question here. Oh and also if you want to be scared – read the Annual Alarm Report into the UKs carriageway condition. Genuinely scary stuff.

I hit one back in 2010 or so. Fractured my wrists and elbows, scared up my face and hands. Thankfully a sponsored ride was going the opposite direction and were able to call an ambulance.
But yeah. A national cycle route had a lot hole inches deep and feet long.
To this day my wrists hurt from time to time.

I stopped riding my bike after a serious accident with a pothole. I was going down a steep hill in hailstones and they filled in a big pothole. My bike flipped and I landed face first on the road like a meat crayon. Nothing broken but some scars now hidden by a beard. I have no memory of the day all I remember is waking up in A hospital bed. Apparently I was crawling in the road speaking garbled gibberish. Sold the bike last year.

Thats a dicey bit of road, should be fixed, but only a pillock would cycle through at top speed.
