From the article, he sounds like the usual “fine standing” citizen you’d expect to get away with a slap on the wrists. You know the type with a ton of previous convictions that constantly get let off. Typical shit for our broken justice system

    2. Same old shit copout. Drug abuse, tough life, cant escape it.

Assault several people, assault the Gardai with a weapon when they come to arrest you, and get sentenced to write a letter saying how sorry you are.

      Literally couldn’t make it up.

Well im sure injured Guardai will frame that letter and pass it on to his grandsons when the time comes…

Soft touch Ireland strikes again. On crime, on immigration, the list goes on…

Did you read the article and see all the offences this scumbag committed, theft, multiple assaults and thefts, one attempted robbery of a person on the street, racial abuse et cetera et cetera.

And because of a sob story the judge lets him off with a suspended sentence and the sole punishment is he needs to write a letter of apology.

Fuck me what do you have to do to get sent to jail in this country.

That defence barrister sounds like a wizard!

    7. Seems like the best thing you can do in this country if you run into trouble with the law is pick up a heroin addiction, it makes you immune to jailtime

Sounds lenient, but having read the article, the sentence i suspended contingent on him getting involved with drug addiction services. He is clearly a menace but jail does just takes him off the streets for a few months and then he comes out and gets back to the rampage.

If they can make some progress cleaning him up, there might be a better result. Jail is not dug-free. Really it’s a joke that the state is incapable of providing such a facility. I don’t know how many residential treatment places there are now, when i was younger there were just eight places in Coolmine IIRC.

I don’t know what the success rate is for people with his profile, but I’m guessing low. Anyway, if he re-offends that sentence is going to be activated.
