Boam is a vile little internet troll and not a proper politician. But there’s a lot of people – I’m guessing the younger and more chronically online portion of their base – who will absolutely love it.
Part of MAGA’s appeal is the permission to relax and be the worst person you can possibly be. Reform will want that same appeal. They’re not just going to be badly informed old Tories.
I don’t think most of us want to be governed by Andrew Tate stans and edgelords, but seeing what has happened in America should put us on the alert when grubby little bastards like this pop up in politics.

Probably quicker to tell us if we find a Reform candidate who doesn’t post shit like this.
And people are surprised? Reform’s one major policy is just “hate foreigners”, of course they’re gonna be like this.
Listening to Ben Kentish this morning on LBC; he’s always struck me as quite balanced but probably more left-leaning than others at the channel, but even he is promoting the ‘isn’t Angela Rayner calling Reform voters idiots by calling Farage a snake oil salesman’. Hillary still gets the blame for calling MAGA ‘deplorables’, when all their behaviour & language since has indeed been deplorable.
An old guy came on to give his view and said he was voting Reform and just waded into repeating bullshit about France putting migrants in boats to send here, how Europe was our enemy etc. Just repeating talking points without listening to the counter-factual (when challenged with the actual truth he does the usual ‘I’m just a lay person/I’m not as clever as you), without actually applying critical thinking to a different viewpoint.
I fear there is no hope with people like him (although he was 83…)
Remember when the Democrats lost the election by spending the campaign calling the other side Nazis? Would be better if we engage with the points or we’ll have the same fate.
