Imagine thinking that the guy who had to resign as PM in disgrace after being caught breaking the law repeatedly and lying about it repeatedly is your party’s salvation.

      The Tories are absolutely screwed.

The charlatan that repeatedly lied to parliament and the public, that was in the back pocket of Russian billionaires.

How desperate must you be and how stupid you must think the public are if you think he would ever be voted for ever again.

      > Senior figures said there was no “appetite” among the party’s 121 MPs for the former prime minister to make a comeback, adding that he was unpopular with floating voters and the political landscape had changed.

Come on chaps, he just had another kid and needs an excuse to be out of the house.

    4. Even while Badenoch crashes and burns, I don’t think Boris is either willing or able to take her place atm.

But who else do they have, really. Many of the more sensible one’s have slowly left the building ever since the Brexit vote.

All that seem to remain are the loons, the morons, the incompetents and the invisible.

Can a non-MP be leader of the opposition?

ETA: Looks like the conservative party constitution makes clear their party leader has to be an MP.

The worst PM of my lifetime and a disgusting human being. Being left wing I hated Margret Thatchers politics but at least she took the job of PM seriously and wasn’t in it for herself unlike him.

Johnson has not said he intends to run for a seat let along run for leader of the party, indeed he has repeatedly stated he would never return to frontline politics. The rumor was started by sone “friends” of his whether its true or not remains to be seen.

The MP’s saying they don’t want him back are likely worried about their career prosects after all if Johnson does return they are very unlikely to win a leadership contest against him. Its really just a space filler article to keep the Tory faithful interested and possibly put pressure on Badenoch.

Boris will never be forgiven for what he has done. His legacy is the destruction of the Tories.

I think if he comes back he could win in 2029.

Look at Trump, written off in 2020 and now he is back.

If they want to survive they need to have him back. Reform voters will come back to the Tories. Boris is a very good campaigner.

      He has a fanbase.

Luckily for boris, I know some grifters who’ll take any left over conservative slop. As long as you prioritise the grift, and don’t speak ill on the ceo or whatever title Nigel’s going under.

Boris acted all super Brexit to promote himself and didn’t actually think it’d work, to show you the type of guy he is

It has to be the most embarrassing I ever felt for my country when he was PM

    11. Born-Ad4452 on

No one, anywhere, ever wants him back. Or even a semblance of being near to back

    12. Reeks of desperation. Tories trying to go back to a time when they were electorally successful. What do they stand for any more? Reform-lite basically. Hard to see how they survive long term based on current trajectory in the polls.

I kind of think that having to resign in disgrace from the position of PM should automatically bar you from having anything to do with politics ever again.

Besides that, the man is bloody fool.
