For Putin, Ukraine is not even the main prize.

His main prize is for the U.S. to rot from within, destroying public trust in institutions, weaken “international community” that sustained democracy, human rights and rule of law.

He’s just using Ukraine and Trump to induce its demise.

No. Trump won’t change. He’ll be back being Putins bitch tomorrow.

Europe got to stop trying to get Trump on board. How many more times are you going to let Trump blow up your plans or undermine you?

    3. No, public. Trump isn’t actually surprised by Putin, and he is not looking to change. The question is, why are you believing Trump’s theatrics?

      It is just a play.

Both Trump and Putin are drooling at the lucrative economic business deals of being the first to drop sanctions and moving to the new gold rush that is rebuilding Russia’s economy while Europe is still repulsed to have anything to do with Russia.

For example, hundreds of billions waiting to be made by [America’s Boeing with Russia](https://meduza.io/en/news/2025/04/16/russia-asks-u-s-to-let-it-us-frozen-assets-to-buy-boeing-planes-bloomberg), as the two cronies plan to drop sanctions and start “normalizing” US-Russia relations. That is the end goal that Trump is aiming at.

Europe has to accept that this war is up to them. At best, Trump will approve selling military supplies to Europe for Ukraine. The country is going to encounter a debt crisis as a result of Trump’s actions forcing up the bond rates. So far Trump has failed pretty much everything he’s set out to do in this term. He has created far more harm than any good that could ever come.

I picture Trump with Truman Capote’s voice (extremely effeminate) saying, “Stop it, Vlad’.

Have you what? Russia is Europe’s problem and Europe is Russia’s problem. Let them duke it out.
Donnie shouldn’t get involved. He is wasting time with the whole back and forth shiet on Ukraine.
Let’s just focus on Japanese and Korean partners who actually really take things seriously, and have capacity for cooperation.

If Russia citizens want their country back…go to the UN and ICC… they have been given instructions on how to deal with Putin…and they have been seizing assets globally since Russia invaded Ukraine…and that century secret is about to explode…

Trump will sing Putin praises again soon enough.

Omg we really have to sit through reality dawning on Trump in real time, huh?

Why is Trump not taking a harsher stance? Why sit in the sidelines? Many of my innocent cousins are perishing in Ukraine..

The only change is that as Trump loses his facilities he will blur more and more lines. Donny, Donny, Donny…. You were never going to work against Putin. Are you acting, or are you really starting to forget this simple ground rule? Don’t worry though. However Putin threatened your family, they probably won’t follow through.

He’s just one Russian hooker pissing on him to be back to his old subservient self.

Yeah he was killing civilians and starting pointless wars before he even became President.

    13. On the day that the invasion began, Trump described it as “genius”:

      >I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful. He used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy…

      >…I knew that he always wanted Ukraine. I used to talk to him about it. I said, ‘You can’t do it. You’re not gonna do it.’ But I could see that he wanted it. I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him. I mean, you know, he’s a tough cookie, got a lot of the great charm and a lot of pride. But the way he — and he loves his country, you know? He loves his country. He’s acting a little differently, I think now.

Trump was taught by his father to see the world of being comprised of winners and losers. He believes that winners deserve to win and that losers deserve to lose.

Trump may be starting to have his doubts about Russia winning this.

It is obvious that Trump has believed that Putin was winning the war, in part because that is what the Russians have been telling him. But it has been going on for three (or eleven) years with few territorial gains, which seems to be quite a long time for someone who supposedly has the upper hand.

If Trump is starting to question what the Russians have told him, then he may turn on Putin so that he can be on the winning side.

I would be curious to know what Alexander Stubb has been telling Trump and whether Trump listens to him. He may prove to be an important player in this.
