      Ebbsfleet international should be the beating heart of a dense urban development. It’s an absolutely prime location with high speed rail links to the capital and potentially mainland europe. But it’s just surrounded by carparks and empty space.

      They need to shrink that SSSI that was only put up by Natural England because of some non-native spiders.

      Natural England gives no consideration to human needs when establishing zones like SSSIs that block development – and any decision that results in blocking development should really always involve weighing up human needs and the merits of development. Either Natural England should be required to consider human needs when designing land as SSSIs, or they should lose their planning powers.

      So Mr. Quine thinks there are eight million people who live in the south-east who want to go to the continent. I think he has an exaggerated view of the demand for travel to France, or is being deliberately misleading.
