Still way too many flights to Gilead. 20,30,40 percent fewer flights – we surely can do better than that?

I wouldn’t go to the US at the moment if it was a free trip.

>Last month, the federal government’s National Travel and Tourism Office released preliminary figures showing visits to the US from overseas fell by 11.6% in March compared with the same month last year.
Those are rookie numbers.
As $ is apparently the only thing sufficiently motivating to Americans, the damage needs to be extreme. As in, the last red voting twat in Hinkleburg, Pennsyltucky needs to realise.
What makes it slightly more annoying, most of the places that attracted Tourism in the first place where/are majority blue voting places.

Just back from the US, and that will be my last US trip for some years.

Even without the tariffs, it’s also just far too much hassle nowadays — it feels like over the last few months a lot of people are just reevaluating trips and it’s just doesn’t feel like they really want tourists anyway.
The impression I have of it now is just a sort of aggressively xenophobic country with a lot of very strange far right politics and very high levels of gun crime. It just seems really unwelcoming.
I mean it’s always had a lot of issues, but the old positivity and optimism vibe that caused you to look past them is just gone.
The sense you get is like the worst aspects of X has turned into a country and a government.

The focus on the tariffs puzzles me when the way ICE is fucking out of control would be enough to justify not traveling to the US.

Just in time to ruin the next World Cup. I’m American and I can’t say I blame anybody for sitting this one out.

As a Canuk, I stopped entering the US the moment Trump was elected in 2016. Even before him, cutting through on occasion on the way to the Maritimes left us uneasy as the border agents were still dicks coming and going. On the Canadian side, always professional, and cordial.
In our opinion, it is just an unsafe place to visit. Guns, racism, ignorance, arrogance. The list goes on. It’s all crap food too.
