He told the judge the honour killing was fine, just the rape thing he didn’t like being talked about.

We’ll see how this pans out!

This reads like an Onion article. Can we sue him for defamation of the human race

‘rape accusations have destroyed his reputation’ didn’t have much of one to begin with, murderer.

Always a good reminder as to the mindset of these people – can anybody here imaging having the front to do this?

He doesn’t just feel no remorse, he doesn’t even feel like he did anything wrong. Yet another case where a whole of life order would have been entirely appropriate and far better justice , and yet we have frankly pathetic minimum sentences which are close to the floor for murder.

Still, the good news he picked the perfect legal team for this case.

Woah. Warn a person before linking to
      The scum paper!

    6. As he’s apparently representing himself I’m going to assume that he previously consulted with lawyers who explained to him in words of one syllable that it’s pretty much impossible to defame a murderer given the fact that he is a murderer means he has no good character to protect.

I mean it won’t work because reputational damage is reliant on having a good reputation that’s been damaged. He’s a convicted murderer so a judge will rightly rule that being accused of rape isn’t actually any worse than this and hence his reputation is intact.

God this is so depressing. The media, police and everyone else need to stop using the term honour killing. Honour killings do not exist in the UK, just murder. We don’t want that type of backwards poisonous culture here.

This is the only case that’s haunted me since I read the details. These people stalked and psychologically brutalised this poor girl before raping and murdering her in th most inhuman way possible. They recounted themselves choking and strangling her, she was choking and vomitting and still alive and they raped her over and over whil doing this until she eventually died. They deserve the worst end imaginable.

I’m surprised he got this far with his claim, as a layperson I would assume this judgement would be outright dismissed.

For example his argument is that amongst people who are advocates for murder, rape isn’t acceptable and his reputation has been damaged with them. I didn’t think libel claims could brought to protect your reputation with extremist groups. Beyond that, what evidence would he have that his reputation is despised based on rape as opposed to murder? Just seems like there’s no prospect of success.
