etliplav? yes, he is. i’d even doubt 60%, honestly, even though a lot of people personally identify as muslim the most popular sort of “islam” here is some sort of pagan deism thing at best (dunno what else to call it,) and it is for sure not the dogma that you are ordered to follow in the quran.

    2. Maybe %70 but yeah definitely not %90 for example i am muslim at my id but im an atheist

    3. He is right that turks get assigned to islam at birth on their ID, he is wrong that turkey is %60 muslim. I’d say the actual number is probably about 80-85%.

Yes. We are assumed to be muslims at birth and registered as such into the database. From my experience, a noticeable amount of people in the younger generations, like born in 90s and after, are atheist or agnostic.

People who consider themselves as Muslim would make up about 80-85% of the country.

    6. Yes he is definitely right, and 60% is definitely an accurate number

Not really but close, I would say Muslim rate is about 80 or 75 percent in general, while under 30 yo this would be maybe 50 50 if I’m not wrong

We are registired as muslims in our IDs by birth, unless your parent are something else and people rarely change it afterwards because they fear discrimination.

But the claim “only” 60% are muslims is open for discussion. There people who identify themself as muslims but are more or less dheists. If you don’t consinder them as muslims then, yes 60% would be correct.

The more important fact is that over 30% of people between 15 and 24 identiefy themselfs as non believers.

    9. I don’t know the exact percentage, but I’m sure it’s much lower than 90%.

No 60% is too low. Turks on reddit are usually too optimistic imo that’s why they are giving low numbers. I’d say at leasy 80% would consider themselves muslim.
