I mean. He went to fight for the Z side for a reason. He was captured and spared, good for him, good for his family, I guess. But he realised he wants to live, so he may say anything in favour of surviving. Tough to guess if he really changed his mind on the matter, or he’s just buying himself out with this speech.

His Czech language is a bit weird tbh, he is also not exactly looking as stereotypical Czech. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is some ethnic Russian previously living here for extended period of time
