In 2024 we built 30,330 homes. In 2024 we took in 149,200 immigrants

In 2023 we built 32,695 homes .In 2023 we took in 141,600 immigrants

That is the equivalent of the entire population of County Mayo + the entire population of County Wicklow. We’ll have a housing crisis for the next 500yrs at this rate.

These protests are great and all but we’re absolutely pissing into the wind until that gets addressed.

It’s generally accepted that rent controls will reduce supply. If they want to keep rent controls, how do they plan on addressing that?

They’ll get nowhere unless they’re willing to use civil disobedience

The whole country is set up to serve the rich first and foremost, the politer you are,the more the state will beat down on you

This is just another whine fest like the 1000 before it. The only tangible outcome is Rory and co building up their electoral profile.

As someone said earlier. Civil disobedience is needed, and consequent arrests in the course of it. If they aren’t doing that then they are doing nothing.

This is just exactly the kind of bullshit that got the rent controls and amendments brought in that has put us on this situation on the first place. If you are going to do rent Co teola do not do them like Ireland did. It has never worked anywhere and has always made things worse. We need smart people to come up with a proper plan.

      >Rent Pressure Zone Protest with Soc Dems

The Soc Dems could have offered to go into government instead of the independents so that they could actually do something about housing supply.

But it’s too lucrative hurling in the ditch instead.
