      People in Eastern Germany are complaining that gas and cigarettes in Western Poland aren‘t cheap anymore!!

      Many former socialist states have experienced similar growth during this period. For instance, Russia’s GDP per capita has grown threefold since 2004.

      And people in Poland are still voting for eurosceptic parties… Just goes to show you how damaging the average low information voter can be. And if there is enough of them you get Brexit

      That’s a Cagr of above 3.5% – which is an insane accomplishment to achieve on a country level over such a long time. Poland did economically many things very right. Congrats!

      And comparatively they’ve gone from about 50% to 80% of the EU GDP per capita.

      And yet people complain that “nothing ever changes” since PO and PiS became the two parties governing Poland, starting in 2005

      Poland’s rise is well deserved and has been tremendously amazing to see unfold. Congratulations to them for making it so far and best of luck for the future too.
