For anyone who has donated to Protect a Volunteer, you helped Shan. In 2024 we got his team 4 sets of NVGs. His teammate Freya, a sniper, was in those fundraising posts. He was also in our 2025 fundraising calendar.
He was an awesome person and an excellent soldier. He was loved by his peers.

Btw, “Russia-Ukraine war” is the most bullshit phrasing on the planet, and hugely disrespectful to this hero’s tragic loss.
“NZ soldier Shan-Le Kearns killed defending Ukraine from Russian invasion” is the accurate phrasing.
Whenever you see this post comments, contact the editor, or make a comment on the YouTube video. Many people don’t realize how ridiculous that phrasing is.
