What’s the difference between the two?

Seems such a small list of charges for driving a car into a crowd and injuring 20 people.

Attempted murder charge dropped I see so they think this was a red mist moment presumably. The coke in his system won’t have helped. Sober reminder to all to never drive angry and especially not angry and impaired.

Interestingly, not charged with drunk or drug driving, which was something a lot of reporting suggested they were investigating.

GBH with Intent has a maximum of life in prison, and is much easier to prove than attempted murder.

He’ll undoubtedly see the upper/top end of a GBH sentence, which is no joke.

Have they released any information on why he did it?
Initially, I’d read he was on drugs but I can’t see those charges. Also, have heard he’s a responsible parent with a good job. He doesn’t seem like the person who would accidentally get caught up in a parade, lose his temper and ruin his and others lives.
Even the defence of I was scared and panicked doesn’t sound like this guy. Very bizarre.

How nobody died during this is absolutely fucking insane, it was bad, but it could’ve been far fucking worse.

Also, I heard that the police are warning the public ***”not to speculate about the case online”*** which I can 100% understand being annoying from their point of view, but how is that going to effect anything about the case? It’s not like a judge is going to go *”Well, I was going to charge you, but according to someone who paid for a blue checkmark on X, they think that it’s a plot by the woke liberal government, so I’m going to let you go.”*

Being a local lad (derby) means his house and workplace will probably get set on fire.

Good the police have been quick to give basic information about this moron and then provide his name after being charged. Stops what happened after Southport from being repeated.

Hopefully he pleads guilty to the charges to save the victims and their families some additional trauma.
