    Quindi … vengo qui da Questo thread nel subredit norvegesedove alla fine sono giunto alla conclusione che apparentemente potrei voler acquistare piante di cloudberry del Nyby Varietà: che puoi eventualmente acquistare solo da/in Finlandia.

    Ma c’è una cosa che mi sta davvero confondendo:

    Quali nomi e termini finnic usi per Cloudberries?

    Ho trovato:

    1. Lacca,
    2. Bacche nuvolose E
    3. Nuvole.

    Quali usi, cosa significano e quali sono le differenze – se ce ne sono – tra loro?

    Mi piacerebbe davvero imparare e sapere!

    (Sarei anche felice se qualcuno potesse spiegarmi, perché c’è solo un "serio" Flair ma non a "divertente" Flair in questo subreddit … Pensavo che noi tedeschi dovessero essere quelli senza umorismo?)

      Lakka and hilla are the two common ones. I have never heard of the others.

      My guess the different terms are just regional words for the same thing.

      Cloudberry (pilvimarja) is literal and absolutely wrong translation.

      We use hilla, lakka and suomuurain.

      I have never seen plants on sale and all berries, even those sold commercially are collected from the wild.

      Hilla, lakka and suomuurain. Just google ”lakka nyby” and you’ll find several shops selling it, although I doubt they will deliver it outside of Finland.

      *Cloudberry* is *lakka* in FInnish. *Pilvimarja* and *pilvenmarja* sound like loan-translations from English. *Lakka* can also be called *suomuurain*.

      Pilvimarja is a literal translation, but it’s not what the plant/berry is called in Finland. In most official contexts the plant/berry is called suomuurain or lakka. In spoken language and in less formal context the plant/berry is called hilla (Northern Finland), lakka or valokki (rest of Finland). There are some other regional terms, but suomuurain, hilla and lakka are by far the most common and understood. We usually don’t call it by some commercial moniker (Nyby, etc.) because most of us finns forage berries from wild growing plants. Varieties planted and grown in gardens do exist, but they’re far from common.

      Are you trying to farm them? I think your best bet is to ask somebody to collect them for you but i can say it is almost impossible If you dont have perfect kind of enviroment for them. If you find good spot in the wild where is thousands of them on large area even that does not guarantee you get one bucket of berries. It is a weird plant. Some year almost non, some years they are really small and not lots of them, some year there is lots and lots of big ones everywhere.
