      >What emerges is, first of all, the confirmation of the cliché of the ‘grumbling’ Italians: the most dissatisfied nation of the Union and below the European average for satisfaction in the work of their government.

Of course, we have Meloni and fascists in our government… do you trust mafia? Do you trust fascism?

Eh grazie al cazzo, have you ever tried to look what political parties in Italy want to do if they were elected?

Brainwashing propaganda, check the number of corruption cases over the last 20 years between the Italian parlament and the european one.

Of course we still psicologically pay tangentopoli when we discovered Cristian democracy, communists and socialists had ties with mafia (ironically not fascists and northern secessionists) and the fact that nowadays corruption is centered on regional istitutions while EU only has central istitutions

Yeah, that’s it for me. Right now I’m looking at Macron and Merz like they are our saviors
Every fucking article writing about something good Europe is doing lacks Italy’s (Meloni) participation.
      It gets tiring

Tbh, I’ve been hoping for a full-on european takeover of our government for years at this point

I wouldn’t trust the national governement to water my plants

Well, duh, they weren’t elected _by_ Italians! /s

Though to be fair, it’s probably not just the Italians who feel that way…

Easiest choice as an Italian. Eu institutions are much more credible that our dumbass politicians

    10. At least their local politicians aren’t lying and blaming everything they themselves are doing wrong on the EU, like they did in the UK.

Or maybe they are and are just doing it poorly…

    11. Italy has a voting system that gave the government to a party backed by 12% of the population

and the only reason they didn t to go full mussolini 2.0 is because of the EU

At this point I genuinely wish our ruling partiesand their conspiracy theories were right and the EU actually was just a scam designed to turn us into a german/french colony

Ask them to let the EU decide their taxes or direct their armies, see how the answer shift. It’s always easy to say that sort of things when your government sucks, much harder to actually make that confidence materialize when someone asks.

I also trust the EU more than I trust the Italians 🤣
