      despite its problems, the NHS is a massive organisation and it has many centres of excellence still, even if we are all generally focused on appointment waiting times.

      I got cancer last year and the NHS was amazing. Without them I’d never have beaten it

      It is so frustrating we are such an absolute powerhouse in the field of medical developments, constantly hampered by a government that wants to put an absolute pittance towards using any of this output to generate any sort of real industry, and to starve our healthcare service to the point most people are happy to get treated in a manner that would’ve been pretty dated 20 years ago, and where access to modern diagnostic tools is so limited even these sorts of simple tests wind up getting dropped because they place too much burden on scanners for follow-ups.

      Our NHS? You sure? It’s on the verge of collapse, I suppose expenses like these will be the final nail in the coffin. Shame really.

      Great news. Now fund biomedical laboratories properly so we can cope with more work and more demands placed on us as a service.
