Totally agree exept the title is slightly inaccurate. ~~Ireland~~ Irish kids has good news because education is the fastest and most dependable way out of poverty.
After getting a degree, move to other countries to work and settle down as there are no homes for them here to live as adults. There they can get good jobs with good salary then theybcan decide if they want to come back.
Being uneducated and in low income work should not put a person below the poverty line, especially in a wealthy nation like Ireland, it’s kind of sad the IT are publishing an article like this implying the issue is widespread.
The reality is that not everybody is built for third level or even apprenticeships. This is why minimum wage needs to be a living wage. A simple, no frills but sustainable existence should be achievable on low income in a society that works.
Escape Ireland maybe, fastest way to escape poverty is to become dependent on the state before you earn too much.
