Portugal Where everybody wants to live, but nobody wants to leave

We should all see it as a good sign that European countries are becoming more desirable and attracting people from all over the world. The opposite is what would be worrying.
Welcome future American neighbors. Just not the ones who wear red hats please.

Downtown Lisbon is already an English-first area. Sometimes English-only.

Is there any insight in to why Portugal? The article doesn’t say other than broad reasons for leaving the usofa

The first link in the article is to a tourism study that is irrelevant to emigration. The second is to a survey that is meaningless. Americans constitute a tiny portion of the immigrants in Portugal and this is just clickbait.

Do they know how small our country is? It’s already full of Brazilians.

Why would Americans emigrate? I thought they were living in the best country in the world and that Europe was a woke dictatorship? /s

Nah thats bullshit, this is some marketing by Portugal tourism agency. Nobody in america even knows what Portugal is if you ask them to name Europe. I would say top 3 countries americans know and desire to visit would be italy, france, and (uk)

Just what we need, americans increasing even further our house prices and using our NHS without contributing to it.

What I think about all of these americans moving to europe:
« In their journey from the old continent to distant lands in search of a better life, many now find themselves retracing their steps, realising that the essence of what they sought was always rooted in the lands they once departed. »

Now Portuguese people should remember how Americans depicted them in Family Guy…
