Under no circumstances would I let them search my phone or my social media accounts (not that I have anyway). I’m not willing to risk being refused for this so I just won’t go.
Yeah, why is there no poll about if Irish people are concerned about the housing crisis, or the state of the health service or the spiraling cost of living crisis
I’m in N.Y right now. All they asked for was purpose of visiting and was I bringing any food. Did not ask for phone or anything else.

This is nuts to me as an Irishman living in the US.
I came back from New York last week. No one asked me anything about my phone or legal status. I had more of an inconvenience going into a gaming arcade in Philadelphia than getting into America.
