The only thing that is surprising is that the 61% is not higher

It doesn’t take a genius for any man woman or child to see that the housing crisis is getting worse…

Well since they don’t do much about it because “it can’t be solved overnight” … tbh. planning laws could have been changed in the last few years as we see those are in the way since 2014. Same with the objection shit, should be banned and should cost serious money to object and once bribery proved object should go out the window.

Well they’ve shown they’re not willing to do anything about it and yet the Irish public will continue to vote them back in, so no doubt it will get even worse.

I don’t believe that any political party in Ireland truly has a plan to fix housing in Ireland, when I see Eoin O’Brion talking about about SF’s solution I get worried about how they are are going to pay for his version of social housing and holy crap does he dodge the questions.
Other parties talk about starting a state construction company, like that will magically fix all the underlying issues affecting housing.
But when you listen to the new housing ministers that is when the real dread sets in, how can we be this deep into the housing crisis and still be having debates over solutions from the governing parties. They act like it just happened and we just need to tinker with a few rules after that the process will take care of itself.
The real problem is with the voters and stakeholders, no one wants to compromise and a lot of voters are worried about the value of their primary asset dropping or seeing something they don’t like outside their front door. The politicians are worried about making a mistake by letting something get built without a lot of expensive consultation from environmental and legal experts.
