      My mum was only shopping there yesterday, this feels surreal for something like that to happen here. Just seen the WhatsApp messages floating around.

      We need some sort of alert system. It took well over an hour for the media to start reporting on this and they waited til after it was all over. Perhaps that was a deliberate decision to avoid people gawking at Garda activity but it’s a bank holiday Sunday, people will be visiting the supermarket and people need forewarning.

      As a Carlovian, I do feel a little let down. I only know because I know people who had to flee the fairgreen today, and I only went online because I knew what was unfolding.

      I was there with my wife and baby about an hour before this and I am shook as fuck.
