Not really relevant to the above article, but busses are fucking grim. My last chosen mode of transport if I’m being totally honest. I want to be environmentally friendly, but in a friendly environment. Ya dig?
Reverting the purely ideological ban on councils running their own bus companies is a welcome move.
I doubt many councils will have the money to even consider it now, but it could be a cudgel for when the private operators start playing up or used instead to operate lifeline rural/dial-a-ride services that the private companies won’t touch.
