Used in planning would save a lot of time for people.
Work coaches?
Just let the computer handle it all at that point holy useless job.
Or save 1/26th of the workforce? Which one is more likely.
And only a team of 30 would be needed to double check everything the ai did wasn’t balls
And how long does it take to go over it all making sure the AI hasn’t straight made shit up and fixing all the errors then starting again because what the AI produced is actually garbage when you take a second to examine it.
You wouldn’t let a chatbot do your job but can it ai and all of a sudden its hot shit.
Does it save them 2 weeks a year or will it cost them 2 weeks pay per year?
That isn’t a business case. It’s a gimmick. You simply don’t invest in an experimental technology that flat out amplifies security and privacy risks for a 4% productivity gain.
Not surprising I’m a software engineer and it easily saves me a hour most days
Senior management are currently wanking themselves raw over AI at our local authority. Problem is they don’t even provide adequate training for the systems we already use – I’m basically self taught in the software we have to use on a daily basis. Imagine the productivity gains if people knew what the hell they were doing.
Half the systems we use at HMRC are from the late 90s early 00s, how about we get to the 2010s before we try and AI everything. Id much rather functioning systems being prioritized, and so would the public if they knew how much of my day was lost waiting for things to load.
Ai is 100% a tool that will improve what we do, but we need to lay a real foundation first.
It’s things like this is why government systems are useless. They are to reactionary rather then dealing with issues we know are going to happen.
We have known technology and robot is going to end up replacing 99% of jobs in the future but we haven’t set anyone up or made any plans for when it does. This is going to happen really fast and it’s going to fuck the whole planet up when it does.
When purchasing power drops and manufacturing increases you either need to move on to a system that works that way or the whole thing is a recipe for disaster.
Oof, if I was a civil servant I’d want to keep that quiet….
