      Great result.
I think that they only had five of thse in service.
Two down is a real blow to Russia.

don’t they only have like 4 left after the strike the other day?

Could that possibly be all or nearly all of them?

They had about 9, but only about 5 were operational. They lost two in 2024, one on June 1st, and allegedly one or maybe two more on June 3rd?

Even if they only have one or two left – that’s not enough coverage given that they can’t cover all regions and can’t remain airborne indefinitely.

This is good as Russia uses Early Warning for Early Attack.

cannot put into words how important those kills are. Just tore off the eyes and ears of both Russian aircraft and Russian ADEF. Those Swedish early detection aircraft just became even more important for Ukraine

I’d like to know how they got the footage considering they were so far away. Mobile network maybe?

This is huge, much more important than the bombers. Their fighter jets will have to operate in shorter ranges and with less coordination, and they will have less defense from long range missiles and drone strikes. Russia has maybe 3 A-50 left, so they won’t be able to cover all theaters consistently, especially considering extended down times and rotation.
