OP Aegeansunset is a member of ND (Greece’s current governing party) online propaganda team “Ομαδα Αληθειας” take his posts with a grain of salt, as they 9/10 times dont speak the truth but rather a honeyed version of it.
Also that happened first time in 2022-23 why reposting something now amidst so many scandals and shit going on in Greece (many of whom the sole responsible party is OP’s masters) i have no idea.
EDIT : Also to provide even more stats, cause actual brain drain keeps on being a problem (people with higher education and not just immigrants like the OP posted) from Eurostat non the less.
[https://www.greeceinfigures.com/brain-drain/](https://www.greeceinfigures.com/brain-drain/) (read the whole article), since the number has reached new highs since 2014. Yes more people returning to Greece but not the ACTUAL EDUCATED ones.

So… p3ople return once the economy has been doing better for some time?
Bc everytime the Syrian situation was mentioned, most people here just wanted to throw them immediately back to Syria (a country that had just ended a war with more than a decade)
Yeah…
Anyways, this is really interesting, hope more countries can achieve it

It’s refreshing to read good news for once.

Propaganda government bots try to convince everyone that Greece is a paradise that is starting to have things figured out. Let me tell you the harsh reality as a local Greek experiences it . Greece hasn’t figured out shit. Corruption is maybe more prevalent than ever and the system works basically in the same way before we had the crisis. The government pays every media to spread positive news like this while the average greek person sees his quality of life reduced year by year. Not to mention the current scandals where of course they deny everything and noone gets punished. Utopia, come to live your myth in Greece

Those are absolute immigration and emigration numbers. “Brain drain” refers specifically to the outflow of the best and most talented workers. Does any data indicate trends specific to that group?

[Source](https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php?title=Migration_to_and_from_the_EU) for 2023, another [article](https://greekanalyst.substack.com/p/greeces-brain-drain-finally-reversing) which is also good for those who are more critical of the official eurostat data and explains in more depth.
