I don’t get the obsession with Temu, Amazon, etc, if I’m buying something I’m buying it in a shop or from a brand I’ve checked seven ways to Sunday. Don’t even get me started on the state of their clothing.

What a lovely map of capitalistic imperialism. Might go in with me 18 housemates on a print and stick it in the kitchen/bathroom as a conversation opener.

I’m guilty of sometimes using TEMU and SHEIN.
Maybe once or twice a year.

Downloaded doesn’t mean bought. It easy to download and just have a look !

I went from wish to AliExpress and haven’t changed since.
I tried Temu after I fell for this “spin the wheel” nonsense which you never lose… and then I won 3 free items which were magically out of stock.

Deleted my order and ordered on AliExpress instead lol.

i love clothes and fashion. like 2-3 years ago i used to constantly buy clothes off of shein and wear them once and then never wear them again, but i was also thrifting constantly but i could never get anything

then when i stopped buying clothes off of shein last year i managed to get tons of clothes between last year and this summer. i never buy any of my clothes from fast fashion or anything now, like i never buy off of shein or anytbing anymore. í thrift everything, it’s great.

I downloaded it, realised it was shite, then uninstalled it.

I don’t know if this counts as a download, but i recently upgraded my phone for the first time in years and temu was one of the preinstalled apps.

They advertise a lot. End of last year I got a Temu ad on every video and a lot on Instagram. So that explains the lots of downloads. Does that translate to actual usage?

I downloaded temu, had a look at the huge discounts, then saw the same crappy tools being sold elsewhere for cheaper, uninstalled app. Carried on with my life

Got a few clothes on Temu. Expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised. Delighted with the quality. Got a load of garden stuff as well.

    12. Its just throwing your money away, the quality makes Penny’s cheapest shit look good. I will admit to it being nice to have such a huge selection but its all awful. I understand ordering things online that you physically can’t get in Ireland but it just gonna end up as waste.

      I dont believe the map.

Just about everyone in Ireland & the UK have whatsapp downloaded, yet according to the map more people have Temu ? & Whatsapp is only the most popular in Russia?

yea my mother bought some shite from Temu lately sigh it’s whatever i personally would never use it and would trust Amazon a lot more

I can get past people not knowing or caring about the sustainability, overconsumption and exploitation aspect of it, but I can’t wrap my head around how people are okay with buying shit quality stuff without even looking at it, not because they have a reduced budget but because they actually think it’s cool. I’d rather buy one good piece than 10 Temu pieces of plastic that look cheap, feel cheap and will either disintegrate or be ridiculously out of fashion within the next few months.
