      I guess, some people only want the good weather and don’t care about the local culture. But to me this mindset is boring. You only live once, so might as well expand your horizons and experiences a little.

      A great vacation in Guadeloupe. 23 French Chefs and yet hot dogs, hamburgers, Cornflakes were provided along with peanut butter sandwiches. Very sad for American guests that refused some of the best food anywhere.

      If I was the hotel franchise / agent I’d ban her from using our facilities ever again.

      “By the time we paid £750 for the holiday, €70 tourist tax for me and my daughter and an extra £450 for both of our meals, I could have been to the Caribbean on that”.

      Then fuck off to the Caribbean, which you’ll actually end up hating even more if you can’t stand a bit of basic Mediterranean food.

      Ι have been working at low budget 3* All Inclusive Hotels in Greece for 12 years now.

      While I cannot have an opinion about the certain hotel, I notice that vacationers have unreasonable demands for the price they have paid. And most importantly they think that luxury is something they deserve even though they do not want to pay for it.

      Maybe the money they pay is a lot for them and they have to work hard to afford one week of holidays.

      But this is not an excuse. We are a European country inside the Eurozone. Most costs are same or even more that the rest of Europe, and it is time for us the locals, to start earning a salary that is more in par with Central/Northern European salaries. The prices outside are almost the same while our salaries are 1/3 of theirs. This of course will be reflected at the prices of even low budget hotels.

      Edit: After reading the article more carefully she states that she paid 70 EUR tax for her and her daughter. The tax here is 5 EUR per room per night for 3* hotel so she stayed for 2 weeks for 750 GBP per person flights, transfer and All Inclusive Accomodation included. The hotel most probably earns around 25 EUR per person per night, you can’t have any extra demands for that price.

      I was once in Fez, Morocco and brits in the Riad complained between themselves there was no bacon or sausage…. Ma’am your a Muslim country lol

      This nonsense always just comes from a lack of self awareness and effort. If you’re a fussy eater or have mobility issues, do your research and ask questions.

      Personally, whether it’s Greece or a 5 star resort in Dubai the food is always a bit mid. It’s just what happens when they have to prepare it buffet style on a commercial scale to suit the broadest range of tastes. But that’s a topic for another day…

      I don’t have a anything like ulcerative colitis, I’ve never even heard of it, and I don’t go on holiday often but when I do go on holiday I want to try what the locals have, don’t see the point in going abroad and having the same as I have at home
