    1. Even Reform don’t believe in Reform.

The infighting, the inability to do background checks and putting forward people who are unable to fulfill their duties. Not a good look.

    2. Hmmm, I wonder if he only just now realised he was the chairman of a party consisting of people that hate his religion?

    3. Articulated on

It did always seem like a bit of an odd fit…the party that is explicitly going for working class populism by warning about ‘Islamisation’ being led by a muslim and former Goldman Sachs type.

    4. That question in parliament yesterday seems to have lifted some wool from his eyes about the people he’s enabled and how serious they actually are.

      > it comes after he called the party’s newest MP “dumb” for calling on Sir Keir Starmer to ban the burka.

    6. Considering how much Reform are shoved down everyone’s throats I do still hold a slim sliver of hope that the fact their councillors and politicians seem to have a shelf-life of an unrefrigerated yoghurt will cause enough internal strife to make them a laughing stock before the next election.

      _Slim._ But it’s still there.

What happens in a scenario whereby Reform narrowly win an election? It’s a one man band centered around Farage, totally devoid of talent or anyone capable of running the country. As a protest vote it’s fine, send a message, screw the Tories. But what happens in a world where they actually get power.

      >it comes after [he said it was “dumb” for the party’s newest MP to call on Sir Keir Starmer to ban the burka](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cql2pzr5qlqo).

So I guess internal arguments are pushing towards the whole ‘ban’ thing then.

Good to see they’re focusing on important real world problems, not finding ways to just target a minority group they don’t like.

We will see if this party can even last till election day.

    10. supersonic-bionic on

      Lmao
It is so ironic seeing a dude with a non-English name being the chairman of a racist party.

    11. Classic_Peasant on

Can they have one week of stability?

Can’t claim they’re a strong party to get power and contest with things like this

    12. Just another workshy grifter out of a line of workshy grifters, who “didn’t think it’s worth their time.” Straight out of their leader’s playbook. No one should be surprised.

    13. Christian-Metal on

Farage’s parties are always the gifts that keep on giving.

*EVERY* party he is involved in always has constant drama, splits and people falling out. This is absolutely nothing new – it is *always* the case with him. The man is utterly incompetent.

    14. Spamgrenade on

Problem is this is just water off a ducks back to a Reform voter, its only Farage they are interested in. Reform is a cult.

    15. MarcusAtakin09 on

      Wow, that was unexpected.

How people believe Reform will form a successful government is beyond me.

    16. He was railing against DEI this week, then realised he was a DEI hire.

    17. Sufficient-Brief2023 on

I’m sorry but how tf am I not seeing memes about “Lazy Reform members quitting as soon as there is a modicum of work to do”???? THE LEFT IS SO BAD AT MESSAGING!!!!

how tf is this not a talking point yet??

    18. maxhaton on

      Farage toxic no 1 million

This is probably good for reform though on some level. Zia I think is an ok guy but it might force them to think about what they actually believe

Has anyone got Trump-sympathisers in their family, friendship group, or social circle? Regrettably I have at least three. And since Trump’s position has become borderline impossible to defend they have all said “I’m not really following it all any more”. Bravo, the damage is done and now you’re just going to nope out of the conversation.

Sorry I know this is about Reform but… These same people are on the Reform bus as well. It’s almost like they’re being fed a bunch of far-right propaganda on social media or something… sounds crazy I know…

    20. Important_Ruin on

Wasn’t he the one who actually organised reform behind the scenes?

    21. Grey_Raven on

On the bright side this makes it clear that even if the worst happens and they end up in government they’ll be incapable of governing and collapse due to infighting. Also add in their MPs and councillors refusal to turn up to their jobs and they’re not exactly looking competent.

    22. LuinAelin on

It looks like there’s a possibility reform won’t even be a thing before the next election at this rate

    23. Bobo1803 on

Obvs this doesn’t mean it’s all over for them immediately, but have always wondered if they’d gone all out too early considering the election isn’t going to be for years yet

    24. hobbityone on

One can only hope this is yet another wheel to come off of the Reform train.

Although how stuff like this doesn’t stick to them like it would any other party is beyond me.

    25. berejser on

Oh no, it’s going to take them ages to find another token.

    26. TinitusTheRed on

Sadly most core Reform voters will view this as a positive given their fairly xenophobic/racist outlook.

    27. BalianofReddit on

Just imagine the uproar if corbyn had proposed even half of the tax policies reform have.

    28. ash_ninetyone on

Ans yet apparently Labour are the one’s infighting lol

    29. Dean-Advocate665 on

Pushed out most likely since he spoke out against the proposed Burqa ban. It was inevitable, really. A part fuelled primarily by a dislike for immigrants, chaired by… the son of an immigrant, and their previous chair was an immigrant as well iirc.

Anyways, this infighting isn’t a good look for them. But as others have pointed out, I highly doubt it’ll damage their credibility. The party has division at the very top.

    30. TavernTurn on

Tommy Robinson has just been released from jail – this is not a coincidence. He’s been very vocal about not being able to support Reform due to them having a Muslim at the helm, and now they smell blood. Perfect time to bring Tommy in and go hard fascist party.

    31. Astriania on

This is presumably the small visible face of a large amount of internal drama. It’s bad for the party, because he was one of the sensible, serious sounding members who wouldn’t embarrass himself in an interview, and also being non white and in a visible position was a good counter to the “racist party” jibes which they don’t have any more (assuming the next chair is white of course).

    32. AspirationalChoker on

Quite a surprise he just did some interviews the other day about long term planning haha guess it wasn’t that long term.
