They did it and filmed it. Showed no remorse over the 3 years after their crime.
I’m so proud she followed through and reported them. It must be cartathic to have the sentence finally over.

This is absolutely horrific. If they are capable of this at 13, I dread to think what they will be like at 23. The lack of remorse despite video evidence

The mother of a local “GAA Star” described the victim in the Paddy Jackson/Stuart Olding case as “only a dirty jersey girl” when the case was going on, I’ll never forget it. I don’t doubt if her son was accused of anything, that would be her excuse for him.
The mental gymnastics some people will do to absolve their sons of their actions, imagine raising a monster and blaming everyone but them and yourself for their disgusting actions?

6 years *should* be served in prison for the two main culprits. But that is never the case, they’ll be out before that. They’ll serve the first few months at the Oberstown holiday camp anyway.
None of the 7 & a half year sentences should have been suspended. There was zero in mitigation – no admission of guilt, no apology, no attempt to understand what they did to that poor girl. The defence having to cobble together some usual cock & bull story of childhood drama to give the Judge something.
They should have got the 15 years an adult would have gotten. They were told enough to rape, old enough to face the consequences.
Given the fact they were all cousins, their families are refusing to accept the decision, and the “heavy Garda presence” at the sentencing (for fear their families would kick off) shows to me anyway what kind of people we’re dealing with. Those boys will be a danger to society for forever more.
What’s the bet they will be out in less than a year with the help of the usual bleeding heart Civil Liberties chancers.

So where’s the lack of understanding regarding consent here? They don’t know what “no” means? We’re way too lenient on sex offenders in this country. Can only imagine the sentence that say, Larry Murphy would have gotten in the States.
