Great day for the parish
Never seen Derry Girls but Father Ted is tremendous fun.
Father ted seems to be on most top 20 British tv show lists so hardly surprising really.
It’s a shame Linehan went the way he did with the Rowling mind virus. Father Ted, the IT Crowd and Motherland were all incredible. Ruined one of the best careers in Irish and British television for fighting with randomers on twitter.
I am not Irish but Derry Girls is a massive hit here in the Nordic countries – once it came on Netflix a lot of people got into it and there has been a rise in interest in Irish media since. I honestly think the show did a lot for people’s image of Northern Ireland here and Irish media. Since then I notice people talking about Ireland more, visiting more and seeking out Irish media.
Surely you’d be surprised if they weren’t? 250 is a lot lol
