There is a Russian minority in Latvia, for better or worse. Alienating them and forbidding them from speaking their own language in any public capacity is problematic, immoral and ineffective for Latvia.

It doesn’t help deal with Russia, it only gives Russia more leverage.

tbh i get russia isnt liked , but why expel an elected MP , i assume theirs no law expecting latian to be spoken in the parliement

It is time for every EU country to treat any “friend of Russia” as an agent of enemy state. There is no buts or ifs… if you think that Putin’s Russia has any redeeming qualities, straight to jail (or deport to Russia). Most certainly, lifelong ban from politics is least we can do.

Article forgot to mention he showed a very rude sign (meaning shove it up your ass) and was disrespectful to the parliment

Another point, we also gotta treat outright anti enviromentalists, as the traitors that they are.

Oh what, you wanna buy shit that’s in literal limited quality, from what… The yanks? The Saudis? The fucking Rusies? Yeah aight buddy, even if you’re genuine, you have then naturally formed all of the opinions a traitor would be paid to fake. Good fucking job dude.

Same here, but with something as insubstantial as “but I want to speak Russian!”… Like… then learn Russian, you dolt.

‘Kacapish is his language, shit hole is his toilet, vodka is his friend, flying through window his future’

    7. Latvia is a more complex social environment. This guy is an idiot, and was rightfully expelled but, Russian is indeed a language of Latvia. A lot of people have Russian ancestry and even though they are Latvian and feel Latvian and are pro EU and anti Putin, etc, they still see Russian culture and language as part of their cultural and social heritage. That has nothing to do with supporting Russian but simply their heritage. There is a lot of nationalism against Russian speaking people simply because they speak Russian (and also Latvian) or are of Russian ascendency. We shouldn’t flat out just lump this people with defending Russia just because they speak Russian.

But yeah, this guy is a moron!

He said “There are more of us, Russian is our language” and then showed “Show it up your ass” with his arms.

Very important elections coming up for Latvia, i hope these people don’t get more power. That part of Russians which still has not integrated into our society is becoming angrier and angrier with every day. There is also a lot of Latvians who are in the Russian info-sphere and have not managed to improve their economical situation like the rest of the country has

We should do more to help them out, but turning to oligarchy like Russia has is not the answer

    9. So hear me out. Get a gliding festival organized as political campaign. Bait him to fly. Use strong fans to blow him over the border into Russia where he clearly likes to live. Profit.

    10. Russian colonist doing Russian empire stuff. Russian is an occupier language. If he likes speaking Russian then he can go to Moscow.
Of course these people love their EU passports and freedom of speech too much.

    11. End goal of these countries should be a ban on Russian language in public places such as stores.

By the strangest coincidence ALL of representatives in Ukraine preoccupied with the defense of Russian language, later became the leaders of the occupation regime… Concerning 🤔
