      Fair enough . He obviously values it, has had an impressive career and helped us get the Olympics.

      Honours should be going to those who value them more than people that don’t care

It’s reported the retired football player will be using a two-handed sword, with hopes of acquiring the Ring of Havel, so they he is able to dodge effectively in heavy armour.

      God, pisses me off that the likes of Tom Baker have only just gotten an MBE, but fucking Beckham is getting a knighthood.

      Isn’t this guy in Quatari pockets being paid millions to be an ambassador? Knighting him is disrespectful to LGBTQ*, women and human rights.

      When the aliens are sifting through the rubble of the lost civilisation that will be us, they will find no better emblem of life in 2025 than David F’ing Beckham. The vanity, the pointless accumulation of money, the talentless but wealthy wife, the endorsements, more endorsements, more endorsements. Give him his Knighthood. I’m sure he’ll find a way to monetise it.

      He’s one of the few sportsmen who I would actually say deserve a knighthood. He’s done a lot for grassroots football and been a good ambassador for the English game
