Can someone who actually worked in USA and EU tell if working culture in USA is actually worse?
Or is it just some kinda propaganda?

I really want to do this. I need to just for my mental health.

The art of the deal. Thank you, USA, for supplying us with more long-term workers, who care avoiding burnt out.

As a Dane working in the US, I think it comes down to what your risk/reward tolerance and your work/life balance. I worked for a fast growing company that did well after going public and worked 50-55 hours a week. However, I also got paid a lot and I have saved up enough that I can retire if I want to (I’m 27 years old).
Also, not only Americans work a lot more than Europeans, the tech industry in the US is full of ambitious immigrants.

I knew most of the comments would be some combination of “Yeah, duh?”
It’s really bad here in the US.

I have worked in the USA for 4 different companies and the experience varied wildly. My current company is the one I hope to retire from. We get annual automatic 3-5% COL adjustments plus bonus depending how the company does, usually around 10% of the salary, and the occasional raise/promotion. I pay $250/month for health insurance and can see pretty much any doctor I want for $10-25. I have 3 weeks vacation plus every other Friday off, home office, and flexible work hours as long as I make it to all meetings (ca. 3/week). My supervisor and coworkers are all pretty nice, no backstabbing or gossiping or anything although I’m not friends with any of them. We get basically anything we ask for regarding tech, education, supplies, etc. Everyone has a company credit card for incidentals. I have a liberal arts degree and live very comfortably in Los Angeles. Been applying for jobs in Germany for a while so I can take care of my aging parents, but I’m middle aged and nobody wants to hire me, I see job ads with stuff like “seeking female between 18-35 years” which is insane to me, also many jobs are just temporary contracts that maybe get renewed every couple of years or not, there is no stability. I hate the USA for all the reasons everyone hates it, too, but I live a very good life which is not that unusual if you have somewhat of a career job. I want to help my siblings take care of our parents but the job prospects in Germany are just abysmal. My siblings have had mixed work experiences in Germany with a lot of what I would consider a toxic work environment. I fully expect to get downvoted because the European hate for the USA is so entrenched but this is my experience for what it is worth.
