I’m no expert but I’m fairly sure you’re supposed to piss on it

I found this one washed up on a beach in west Scotland. The 0.5 zoom obviously makes my feet look tiny, but I’m a size 9 for context. Big boy.
Looks like a barrel jellyfish. They can get pretty big
I’ve seen fields of these will fishing on a boat at sea. As in thousands grouped together near the surface, for miles in every direction, like fields of a crop.
For me personally, I’d much rather our ship sink in open ocean than in one of these fields.
Just as well that there is a swimming ban in place.
Did anyone else see a Millennium Falcon? Even just for a second?
During the big heat wave in 2021 I went to one of the main beaches on Achill Island. The sea was full of the biggest jellyfish I have ever seen in my life (some of them seemed to be half my own size and I’m well over 6 foot!) and a lot of people questioning whether it was safe to swim or not.
It was pushing 30 degrees so the sea won out! Suffered nothing for it thankfully 😂
