Left-wing parties failing to compromise and work together is expected at this point. Playing into the hands of FG/FF

Mods, please ban anyone making a Monty Python reference

Splitter!
She’ll rejoin the party in a while after they set up their own little failed socialist party and it will be another letter onto PBP-S.
In a few months, a splinter group called Continuity Red Network will be established.
Have spoken at length with her before, she’s a melt. Not surprised in the slightest.
Leftism is absolutely exhausting, as a leftist

In scenario like that you should SIT PUT and push back hard. Instead, just giving up….
God forbid they may have to go into government. They might actually have to be accountable for all of the shit that they propose.
> A Dublin-based People Before Profit councillor has quit the party over concerns that it’s trying to “appear more respectable”
Yeah that sounds about right
FF FG for a thousand years at this rate
I feel that left wing parties mindlessly splitting is a big reason why right wing parties are performing so well across Europe.
PBP will never achieve anything if they’re unwilling to compromise.
I fully agree with not compromising with FF, FG etc.
But refusing to compromise with those on the same side when it’s the only chance to actually get a left leaning government is foolish.
I like Madeleine because she has her heart in the right place, but this isn’t the right decision.
PBP and sf are a gang of useless cunts
I am somewhat socialist in my beliefs and this is classic. Nothing is good enough for people like her, so she’d rather stay on the fringe and make zero impact to anyone’s life, let FF/FG stay in power indefinitely, rather than compromise with the more like-minded parties.
Never let perfect be the enemy of good
Mentaller these hard lefties need to get a grip and band together
Someone posted some of their policies over on r/irishpolitics
They’re a load of loonies. Even by PBP standards.
Ask Rabharta Glas how that went
“The left wing is for everyone! *no, no not you.*”
Politician quits political party for engaging in politics.
Right wing voters: I don’t like a lot of what this guy is saying but he agrees with me on a few key points [X]
Left wing voters: this candidate doesn’t agree with me on one extremely niche issue, fuck him I’m not voting for that revisionist
And this si why the right tends to win more. Simpler messages not married to rusting hulks like Marx and Engels requiring a fucking degree in “read theory” – the working class tends to be too busy, you know, *working* to read lengthy boring tomes lime Das Kapital – along with an insane focus on ideological purity.
I agree with the Greens and PBP on a fair bit. I don’t agree with all of it. I’m probably a democratic socialist but I think they’d do a better job than the tired politics of FF/FG. I definitely think the latter has too many people willing to say Ukraine is full of Nazis but perfect is the enemy of good enough and I’d take them over the incumbents.
It seems, of course, that party members in true leftist fashion, would rather ensure that their hyper specific Marxist-Leninist-Gonzaloist nonsense theory is the one that wins, so good luck to her and the forty odd. Don’t think she’ll have Cllr on front of her name much longer.
Dope
The right look for converts, the left look for traitors.
God forbid your party had an actual viable way of getting anything done…
Mother of god. As someone who would give PBP a high preference it’s craic like this that puts me off them. We need a united left/left leaning coalition in this country or we’re never getting rid of FF/FG. Criticise SF all you want (and there’s plenty to criticise these days), but until we’re getting into proper 32 county workers’ republic territory, can we not have a government who’d like to deal with the fucking housing crisis
