>A church pastor and male model has been further charged as part of an ongoing probe into sexual offences. Walter Chahwanda, 33 and of Plemonstall Court in Chester, had initially been charged with eleven alleged offences in March this year.

>Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO today, Monday, June 9 that he had been charged with ten further alleged offences in relation to the same investigation. A spokesperson for the force said the charges relate to multiple alleged victims.

>According to his social media, Chahwanda, who the ECHO understands is originally from Zimbabwe, was most recently a pastor at the Sound of Dominion Ministries in Speke. His social media says he is also a gospel singer and a male model.

>He was later charged with eleven alleged offences including rape, assault by penetration; cyber flashing; five counts of sexual activity with a female aged 13 to 15; sexual communication with a child; causing a child to watch an image of sexual activity; and blackmail.

>Merseyside Police said he has now been further charged with blackmail; two counts of engaging in sexual communications with a child, six counts of malicious communications; and causing a child to view a sexual act.

>Chahwanda will remain in custody to appear on trial in September.
