They come out every 4 years, they are harmless to you. He grew up in a potato. In Romania they swarm the skyes every 4 years. When we were kids we used to tie a rope on one of them legs and “fly” them like you would walk the dog. Pretty cruel now that I think of it… ah childhood

I remember these as a kid and being terrified of them whacking around the light in my bedroom. They’re surprisingly big and noisy!

Yeah it’s a cockchafer, have seen about 10 of them on the kitchen floor in the last few weeks, suspect a load of them hatched out (underground) in the recent warm weather – apparently they only hatch every few years when conditions are just right

Cockchafer. I saw one of these a few weeks ago. The come out every few years and make a really loud nosie when flying. They have silly little fan-shaped antennae

I saw one of these bad boys trying to get into my shed about a month or so ago. Noisy little feckers, aren’t they?

You lads are great at comedy names. Brilliant stuff. Way funnier than cockchafer.

The cockchafer got its name because it loves dry humping.

That’s Albert. Stupid name for a stupid a-hole. Piece of advice: Don’t engage, just ignore him and walk away.

Cockchafer — harmless, despite the name.
