Actually the fact that a THIRD of university graduates got a job that requires a uni degree is an astounding success and completely unexpected for me. I wonder how many of them are IT guys but they cannot be the majority I guess. After all, before 2022 we had only about 300 000 IT people of all professions in Ukraine. Why I’m really surprised: first, language barrier is a serious thing to overcome to become fluent enough for a high-level job; second, high-level jobs are never easy to get even for locals because they are nice and pay nicely, and third, in many of our universities, especially provincial ones, the level of education is unfortunately very low, plagiarism and passing exams for bribes are extremely widespread (conclusion of the German DAAD agency) so most of the graduates would never be hired by a Western company. Taking all of the above into account I consider the successful and fast integration of a whopping third of our graduates a huge achievement.

Do people even believe this is true? Politicians and economists have been saying the same thing for decades about immigration and have been wrong so far. Why would it be true now?

Is there a way to gauge Ukrainian immigrants successes and benefits to the economy in Poland and compare it with say, Other groups of Migrants to countries like Germany or France?

Looks like ruzzian bot farms have a busy day today, trying to portray Poland as enemy of Ukraine.

If only the Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria were treated well enough to stay. But people decided that being “the fastest shrinking nation in the world” isn’t something we should try to avoid by seizing an opportunity.
