I cannot wait for the ITV dramatisation of the building of it.

Why does it take us 15 years to build a nuclear reactor, Hinkley point started 2016 and scheduled to open 2031. This is apparently at least a 10 year construction for £11.5bn but we all know it will over-run.

“China’s nuclear reactor construction time has significantly shortened in recent years, with most projects since 2010 completed in under seven years. Some reactors have been built in as little as five years. This is significantly faster than the average global construction time of around 7.5 years according to Sustainability by numbers.”

I’m curious as to why there is a massive disparity, are ours and theirs the same?
