Perhaps Europe should issue travel advisories for people contemplating travel to the USA. There are many reasons why it is a dangerous country to visit. As a Canadian who has travelled extensively in the USA in the past I have always been cautious when travelling in the USA. Gun violence, active shooters, being in the wrong place at the wrong time is a real risk. And it’s only getting worse. A very unfriendly country. I probably will never set foot there again.

So apparently they take their information from internet comments rather than statistics.

This headline is intentionally designed to get people riled up. Switzerland wasn’t “just” slapped with one because every country in the world has always had a travel advisory level assigned by the State department. They are reviewed periodically and the last time Switzerland’s was updated was 20 May. Other countries’ governments also do this for their citizens. Switzerland’s advisory says “exercise normal precautions” along with Poland, Slovenia, Greece, and many others.

    6. Click bait, and no one in these comments read the article.

“On May 20, the U.S. issued a Travel 1 Advisory for Switzerland, reminding people to “exercise normal precautions” when visiting the country. The main concern is the rise in petty crimes like pickpocketing and theft in popular tourist spots, airports, and train stations. There have been many reports from locals and tourists of valuables being stolen on trains or cars getting broken into.”

It´s a stretch calling this ´news´if you have even a cursory look at that website.

      OP doing some harvesting here?

    8. Whatever is happening there, it is still safer than yank land. More free hotels for the rest of us, personally speaking, the fewer americans the better

As if anyone is stupid enough to take the 2025 US government serious?

“Although safety standards are excellent, visitors need to be aware that public safety warnings are not comparable to those found in the United States. While hiking paths and ski slopes are clearly marked, not all possibly hazardous situations will have clear warning signs. **People are expected to use common sense and caution when enjoying the outdoors**.”

Let me repeat: Switzerland is dangerous to Americans because **people are expected to use common sense and caution when enjoying the outdoors**.

This is a level 1 travel advisory on a scale of 1-4. In other words, the best rating possible.

The website linked is low-quality slop.
