    1. On Queen Street, I spoke to two women who were a few doors down from a man who was cleaning the shards from his house after most of his windows had been smashed the night before.

“We’ve never heard of you, we only speak to GB News,” said one of the women when I informed her I worked with The Journal.

When I tried to speak to her friend, she told me again that “we only speak to GB News” and she warned me to make myself “scarce” or else there would be trouble.

I left to speak to the man who was cleaning his house after last night’s riots.

The man, a Bulgarian national, didn’t wish to be named, but told me he had received help from neighbours from his native country as well as Poland and Romania.

No offers of help had been forthcoming from his Northern Irish neighbours, he said.

He doesn’t feel welcome any longer in the area, he said.

It was at this point that he nodded over my shoulder.

The woman who would only speak to GB News was now filming me and again announced that I was not welcome.

Can you go back tomorrow dressed as a cunt and say you’re from GB News ?

I can see investment just pouring in …

You’d kinda wonder what a weird little inward looking enclave like that will ultimately do. They can’t just go around hating absolutely everyone forever and expect to have their bitter lifestyles funded by someone else.

The world has moved on and past them. You really don’t want your brief moment in the limelight to be international coverage of a violent race riot.

Up next, giant burning pyres with flags and effigies on them and ‘marching season.’

      >“we only speak to GB News”

It’s a good thing I’m not a journalist because I would definitely get seven shades of shite bate out of me for asking them if they’re bothered by it not being GB&NI News.

I thought there already was trouble 🤷‍♂️

The journal is only a rag anyway. A daily mail lite who allows trolls to absolutely ruin any open comments and refuses to take any action against them.

Some of the statements from people in this article just makes you sad. Can’t imagine how many people around the country feel.

    8. I’ve read that immigrants to Northern Ireland tend to vote Unionist and want to become British . In fact, many immigrants don’t even realise that Ireland is an independent country and think that the whole island is a constituent of the UK equal to Scotland or Wales.

Terrible, what’s going on up there my town has load.of roma and travellers and as much I feel the frustration of people with some behaviour, I’d never want this to happen you can’t tar them all with the same brush like.

I’m guessing that there’s paramilitaries pulling the strings in the background. I’m rolling my eyes at the right wing element down South who probably have never been north of Dundalk expressing support for loyalist mobs.

I don’t understand, 2 Romanians tried to rape that poor girl and their response is to torch Filipino people’s houses ? They claim to want their voices heard but all this does is show them out to be racists that they are

It was the lad wishing things could go back to how they were in the 1970s that got me. So the height of the troubles was in fact the golden age for Ballymena, was it?

Incidents like this are often the reason you see lots of people of the same community often live in a particular space and not as spread out.

For example places like Whitechapel in the uk which developed when things like “paki bashing” were constantly occurring and Asians based racism. I don’t think Ireland has any major enclave like that but racist riots targeting random people based on skin can only strive to draw more people to that
