8 months is an absolute disgrace, especially given the repercussions the assault had on the victim’s life

This story is insane. Ali, from Somalia, came to Ireland in 2020, claiming he fled from terrorist groups.

He ejaculated on this poor woman’s skirt on the luas. This lad needs to be deported.

Why is he not going to be taken from jail to the airport and sent back to Somalia and why is this only tried in the district court? A few months in a joke.

Without wanting to start a shit storm, what are the rules around being convicted of a crime while applying for asylum or international protection?

The scumbag will get a slap on the wrist, victim will face more punishment for coming forward with online scrutiny from victim blamers. Anti immigrant crowd will pretend to care since the offender is non-white/Irish, but will stick their head in the sand for the many sexual assault cases involving white Irish offenders. No action will be taken to make some sort of an attempt in making public transport safer for women. Another article like this will be posted soon enough, and another, and another. Women will continue to be blamed for hating men.

It’s ok as long as he doesn’t reoffend? Send him home to his wanker friends in Somalia. We need to pay to imprison him here?

This is terrible and lads like him are what makes society worse

      > The court heard Ali claimed he came to Ireland five years ago to avoid “various terrorist gangs trying to recruit young people into their organisations”.

Iirc, there was absolutely no travel. Couldn’t even cycle to Clondalkin. How did he manage to get from Somalia to here in peak lockdown? It’s almost like the objective isn’t to flee gangs, but to find work, go on the piss and (potentially) do something like this to an innocent victim.

And someone might answer me this, but what’s the trade off here? Do we take his word that this is the reason he had to flee or is it investigated? If the gangs are so bad, do we go to Interpol with the evidence so they can take them out, Eye in the Sky style?

The court heard Ali had no prior convictions.
Excuse me, but how the fuck would we know? It’s not like they can check if this creep was doing this shit in Somalia

Another day, another fucking creep doing creep things. What is wrong with men like that? It’s genuinely baffling to me how someone could make the decision to behave that way.

      Utter scumbag

    11. This is how we get a right wing government, and we only have ourselves to blame.
