Saw it last night. I remember the ads from years ago and this is probably badly needed. I know when I ‘d have been out mid 00’s that lad wouldn’t have made it to the car park with keys in hand in any of the groups I mixed with.
Seems to have become acceptable again in many parts.
They need to do an updated one for phones too.

It’s mad that people still drink and drive, obviously there will always be a cohort of selfish dopes on the road but damn, some people still don’t get the message.
As for the advert itself, it’s an ok idea but I think the hard-hitting rawness of “shall I tell you about my life…” was probably the most effective. The DOE up North used to run some brutal advertisements – the “[I wanna walk you home](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppJGgoqPBts)” series should be revived today to target distracted driving.

Great effort, but to be honest it’s too subtle for me. I need to see slow-motion skulls colliding to stop me driving home.

Great… But not as impactful

Aren’t the RSA being disbanded or have I hallucinated this?

A few years ago, I went to the rural area of Cork (near Macroom) and visited a pub with a local man. He was my assigned driver, and I was just a simple tourist in an unfamiliar area. This man drank seven pints throughout the afternoon at the local pub, and suddenly a phone rang, warning that the Gardaí were coming. Everyone rushed out, and this man placed his beer glass next to the gear stick and drove home along the Macroom road. It was the wildest experience I’ve ever had involving alcohol (I don’t drink alcohol, and that afternoon I only had an Irish coffee).
