Then hopefully the government is defeated. Otherwise hundreds of thousands of people, including 50,000 children, will be pushed into poverty.
In theory there are enough ‘discontented’ MPs to defeat the bill IIRC (presuming there’s no significant cross-party support) but in practice I suspect most of them will toe the line on first contact with the whips because they’re either careerists or lacking strong principles and policy knowledge.
don’t worry, since the *good team* is doing austerity, it won’t cause all the deaths that the bad austerity caused, trust me.
