Iran don’t actually want it but they need to make it look like they’re defending themselves.
Who elects the government? Who works for the elites? The government and the elites aren’t the ones manufacturing the missiles and launching them, the workers and the soldiers are. Stop looking for scapegoats. When it’s something good, then people easily manage to understand that “the workers do all the work, not the elites”, but when it’s something bad, then the workers are suddenly not to be blamed. Textbook hypocrisy.
The fact that a Russian and a Ukrainian are on Reddit comparing how they deal with air strikes shows how fucking stupid this war is. Nobody but the government and the elites want this shit.
Trump was negotiating an agreement and he told Israel not to strike while he was doing it. He’s now trying to claim that he was “aware” of the strike and agreed to it: we all know that’s not true. Israel did this to stymie any potential agreement, and now it’s not ever happening. There is no way, without US assistance, that Israel will be able to destroy Iran’s nuclear capability and I do not see any chance that Trump will join in after being betrayed by Netanyahu.
I just want to give a reminder to all the geniuses in Europe who support Israel in this war (for example, German, French, and English politicians). This is whats going to happen: Israel destroys all of Iran’s military and key infrastructure, and inthe worst case, the oil and gas facilities, Iran will go into chaos mode (fighting to change the regime, Kurdish seperatists,…) and thanks to this situation, another group of hundreds of thousands of refugees will pour into Europe. They say a wise man doesn’t get f***** from the same hole twice, but your leaders do not seem to have learned their lesson after Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Sudan,…
This is ridiculous. Plenty on the left and right want a war from top to bottom. Not only in Israel and Iran but in the US/UK/France/Germany etc
Compared to Ukraine, there is far less of a division between the mainstream left and right for total unconditional support for Israel. There is also far less
tolerance for those who don’t support Israel because of this.
People don’t realise how deep down this virulent unconditional support for Israel exists in the West. It is a doomsday cult the same as the Islamists. Europe really doesn’t do the extremist “Judeo-Christianity” like the Americans do, but out of fealty to the US it will always have fealty to Israel.

I was told that Israel has a nuclear weapon. Why it’s ok for them to have it but not ok for neighboring countries to have it?

Why do I feel like if America was eliminated somehow half the world’s problems would dissolve?
I get why this kind of post resonates. Seeing regular people from opposite sides talk about surviving airstrikes is powerful. But saying “nobody but the elites want this” makes the whole thing sound like a misunderstanding instead of something rooted in real power and oppression.
I’m ambivalent about the conflict overall. I don’t love Israel and think they should be held accountable for Gaza. At the same time, I absolutely despise the Iranian regime. They oppress their own people and send weapons to Russia, which is helping kill Ukrainians. I can’t pretend they’re just victims here.
Most wars are exactly this.
I’m confident Israeli citizens do not want Iran obtaining nukes and want their government to stop Iran from obtaining them.
This has nothing to do with Europe. Get this trash out of here. Go discuss this is a geopolitics sub or world news or wherever the hell you want. Israel and Iran are not part of Europe.
Israelis don’t care about their government going to war as long as they aren’t getting affected negatively by it. Iranians mostly support this war because it they consider it shameful for them to get bombed by Israel and not retaliate since their government likes to flex their weapons. Also Iranians are just really patriotic.
